Liposuction

This is overall the most common surgical procedure performed. It may be performed on hips, thighs, abdomen, buttocks, arms, neck or face, or in a combination of areas that can help reshape or re-sculpt your body. Through very limited incisions, isolated fat deposits which do not respond to exercise and weight loss are treated successfully with a rapid return to normal activities. The surgery is not done for weight loss and is often done in conjunction with abdominal, breast or other procedures. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many of us strive for through exercise and weight control. Sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals. An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a procedure to treat loose or sagging skin in the abdominal area of individuals who are in good health but who have had multiple pregnancies, lost a significant amount of weight, or through heredity.

Although occasionally up to 50 pounds of fat can be removed in a single procedure, more commonly 5-10 pounds yield dramatic improvement in most cases. For those with something simple such as excess skin, a very limited diamond shaped incision in the bikini line may offer a significant improvement. Abdominoplasty is not recommended for women who wish to have further pregnancies, as the beneficial effects of the surgery may be undone.

Thigh Lift (Thighplasty)

A thigh lift reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin and fat, resulting a better-proportioned contour of the thighs and lower body. Like other area specific body lifts, a thighplasty helps tone and tighten excess, loose, or hanging skin. The thighplasty is a popular cosmetic surgery option for patients seeking firmer, more attractive upper legs.

There are several different types of thigh lift procedures that may be performed, depending upon the patient's needs and goals. Most often, these surgeries require a hospital stay. Although incisions may be in many cases along normal body folds, there is a significant postoperative period of recovery. To assess candidacy for a procedure such as this, request a personal consultation with Dr. Olson to learn more and discuss your options.

Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

Brachioplasty, most commonly referred to as an arm lift, is a procedure used to remove excess skin in the upper arm. Skin frequently loses its elasticity throughout the arms as a result from a loss of elasticity over time or following weight loss. Arm lift surgery tightens and tones the upper arms, restoring a youthful appearance. Incisions for removal of the excess skin are aligned between the armpit and elbow and most are done under general anesthesia, with swift recovery and return to normal schedule of activities.

Weight Loss Surgery

From mini lift of the legs or abdomen to total lower body lift, these procedures are tailored to individual areas of skin and subcutaneous fat excess. They may be paired simultaneously with other areas at one procedure and they usually require general anesthesia and frequently overnight hospitalization.
